New Delhi, February 10: In a press briefing held at 6 Akbar Road, Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, highlighted that India Energy Week 2025 (IEW25) is set to be bigger, more diverse, and impactful than its previous editions. He emphasized that IEW25 is not just about traditional energy sources like crude oil and refining but about a broader focus on technology and innovation. The event aims to redefine the energy sector by integrating cutting-edge solutions and emerging technologies.
“IEW has grown at an unprecedented pace. From our first event in Bengaluru to Goa, and now Delhi, the next edition in 2026 will be hosted at a permanent 240-acre site being developed by ONGC, which will also serve as a conference and tourism hub,” said Mr. Puri.
The statistics shared by the minister reflect the exponential growth of IEW: • 28,000 square meters of exhibition space, a 65% increase from last year, making it the second-largest energy event globally. • 70,000 delegates, 500 speakers, and 700 exhibitors, representing an 89% rise in participation since 2023. • 105 conference sessions, with a significant increase in international speakers and participation from 20 ministerial-level leaders from countries like Qatar, UK, Russia, Brazil, and Venezuela. • Participation of 90 CEOs from 14 Fortune 500 companies.
The minister stressed that IEW is driven by private sector participation, with no government expenditure on its organization. “The demand for exhibition space has exceeded expectations. Yashobhoomi, the primary venue, has been expanded with additional German tents to accommodate the rising interest,” he added.
One of the key highlights of IEW25 is the Avin Energy Startup Challenge 2.0, where top startups in the oil and gas sector will be recognized. The event will also showcase 10 country pavilions, with Germany and the United States leading in exhibition space, along with innovative zones on net-zero hydrogen, biofuels, renewable energy, and sustainable mobility.
A Special Focus on Future Mobility Under the theme “People-Centric Mobility Ecosystem,” the Sustainable Mobility Pavilion will feature 15 futuristic vehicle models, including 2W, 3W, and 4W categories by 10 leading manufacturers, showcasing advancements in electric and alternative fuel vehicles.
IEW25 is a testament to India’s growing role in shaping the global energy dialogue. With an impressive lineup of international leaders and innovators, the event promises to deliver new partnerships and strategies for a sustainable energy future.
As Mr. Puri concluded, “This event is not just an exhibition; it’s a platform for the future of energy.”
