Bharat Petroleum Corp has clarified that there is no move to replace existing E20 blended petrol with E10, putting an end to claims that suggested otherwise.
BPCL Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Khanna said on Thursday that his response had been misquoted to imply that E10 was under consideration. He stated that this interpretation was incorrect.
Khanna highlighted that millions of vehicles have been running on E20 fuel for more than three years, with large-scale field experience showing no evidence of engine damage or related concerns.
BPCL also underlined the broader role of E20 blended petrol, citing its contribution to reducing pollution, supporting rural prosperity and saving foreign exchange.
The company said it continues to back the national ethanol blending programme and remains committed to maintaining fuel quality.
