Sanjay Ganjoo, Director General of the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE), recently announced that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will officially open the India Bioenergy & Tech Expo 2026. Scheduled to take place from August 11 to 13 at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, this event marks a significant milestone in India’s bioenergy sector.
The inauguration of the third edition of the IBET Expo, a leading event for the bioenergy industry, was confirmed during a meeting in Lucknow led by A.K. Sharma, Uttar Pradesh’s Minister for Energy. The expo is organized by the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) in collaboration with IFGE, and enjoys support from various Indian government ministries including the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the Ministry of Power, and the Department of Biotechnology.
This year’s expo is set to be a grand affair with the anticipated participation of prominent figures such as Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways; Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas; and Prahlad Joshi, Minister of New and Renewable Energy. These leaders will join a roster of senior policymakers and industry experts to discuss and promote bioenergy solutions aimed at reducing carbon emissions.
The IBET Expo 2026 is expected to draw over 15,000 business visitors and will feature more than 150 exhibitors and 120 speakers across over 25 conference sessions. The event aims to cement Uttar Pradesh’s status as a key hub for bioenergy investment and policy development in India.
