NBCC has reinforced its execution-led growth agenda with the 20th edition of Samvaad, a two-day platform aimed at aligning leadership, project teams and employees around performance, technology and organisational development held at the Convention Center, East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi, the event brought together Dr. K. P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman and Managing Director, NBCC, Dr. Suman Kumar, Director (Commercial), Shri Anjeev Kumar Jain, Director (Finance), Smt. Ritu Pandey, Chief Vigilance Officer, senior management, RBG/SBG heads, project heads and employees.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mahadevaswamy called for collective effort toward NBCC’s vision of becoming a Maharatna company. He underlined the need to adopt modern technology, strengthen execution capabilities, maintain financial discipline and ensure accountability. He also urged all divisions to work in close coordination to convert the order book into execution and complete projects on time.
The first day featured a session on “Cyber Hygiene” by **Shri Aneesh Prasad, a 2003-batch IPS officer of the Tripura cadre. The presentation focused on cyber security awareness, responsible digital conduct and prevention of digital fraud. This was followed by a session from Shri Kapil Dev Narayan, Chief Technical Examiner, Central Vigilance Commission, who shared insights on technical examination, vigilance, quality aspects and efficient contract management in major government construction projects.
These sessions formed part of the three-month preventive vigilance campaign themed Probity for Prosperity”, which focuses on pending complaints, pending matters, capacity-building programmes, digital initiatives and contract management.
Technology was another major theme. The **Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council** conducted two sessions on new construction technology, covering modern construction techniques, building materials and emerging solutions for the construction sector. NBCC also launched the **Shram Seva Portal**, reflecting its continued emphasis on digitisation and manpower-focused service delivery.
Discussions also covered provisions related to industrial relations and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020**, reinforcing the importance of statutory compliance and workplace safety.
On the second day, attention turned to project execution aligned with turnover targets, MoU evaluation criteria and performance goals. Participants reviewed strategic priorities and improvement areas across business development, OSD realisation, closure of completed projects, contract management, financial closure, internal audit, human resources and manpower.
The Directors and CVO emphasised faster project delivery, revenue generation and introspection to improve execution. Employees were encouraged to deliver stronger outcomes while maintaining quality and adhering to timelines.
Samvaad served as a forum for exchanging ideas, reviewing challenges, identifying solutions and discussing policy and organisational improvements. The two-day event reaffirmed NBCC’s focus on continuous learning, innovation, technology adoption, operational excellence and collaborative decision-making as it shapes its next phase of growth.
