NBCC Opens Australia Branch to Pursue Infrastructure Work

(02.11.26 — By NewsIP Bureau — Melbourne, Australia)

NBCC (India) Limited formally inaugurated its Australia branch office, NBCC Australia (ARBN 701 405 218), in Melbourne on 28 October 2026. The Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise, under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), said the office will support its expansion into Australia and other developed markets.

The inauguration was attended by the Hon’ble High Commissioner of India to Australia, the Joint Secretary and Financial Adviser of MoHUA, Dr. K.P. Mahadevaswamy, Chairman and Managing Director of NBCC, and other senior officials and dignitaries. The branch is intended to strengthen NBCC’s international presence and provide a base for pursuing work in the Australian market.

Focus on consultancy and construction contracts

NBCC Australia will focus on Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts across Australia. The company said it plans to draw on its experience delivering large-scale infrastructure and construction projects. The announcement does not identify specific Australian contracts or projects secured by the branch.

The opening followed a high-level meeting in Brisbane on 27 October 2026 with Hon’ble Ros Bates MP, identified in the announcement as Queensland’s Minister of Finance, Trade, Employment and Training, and her adviser, Ms. Molly Wagner. Discussions covered potential infrastructure opportunities in Queensland, including social housing, hospitality, tourism, institutional infrastructure and transport facilities.

Queensland opportunities and Brisbane 2032

The company’s announcement also cited the upcoming Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games as part of the context for potential infrastructure development in Queensland. It did not announce a project award, investment commitment or contract connected to the Games.

NBCC described the branch as a strategic step to compete in developed international markets. It expects the expansion to create opportunities for international business and support India–Australia economic cooperation in infrastructure. The announcement did not provide financial targets, a timetable for contract wins or projected revenue from Australian operations.
