12 Oct 2026. New Delhi : The Ministry of Steel, Government of India, has appointed Ms. Sarita Chauhan, Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry, as a Government Director on the Board of NMDC Limited. The appointment takes effect from 12 October 2026 and will continue until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The appointment was communicated through Ministry of Steel Order No. S-14011/1/2022-BLA dated 12 October 2026. NMDC Limited confirmed that Ms. Chauhan joined its Board as a Government Director with effect from the same date.

Ms. Chauhan is a 1999-batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the AGMUT cadre. She is currently serving as Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.

NMDC stated that Ms. Chauhan is not related to any other director on the company’s Board. The company also reported that she is not disqualified under Section 164 of the Companies Act, 2013, and is not barred from holding the office of director by any court, tribunal, SEBI or other authority.
