NMDC trains 55 executives in Hyderabad on GeM, contracts and cyber security Hyderabad, September 12, 2026 — NMDC’s Vigilance Department organised a two-day capacity building programme in Hyderabad on September 10 and 11, as a precursor to its Vigilance Awareness campaign. About 55 executives from the company’s projects and Head Office took part. The sessions followed focus areas identified under Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) guidance: public procurement, contract management and cyber security.
Officers who handle buying and awards were put through GeM’s current tools, contract work after award, and workplace cyber hygiene before Vigilance Awareness Week 2026. That is the working start of the campaign. Director (Production) Joydeep Das Gupta and Chief Vigilance Officer C. Neelakanta Reddy attended the inaugural session.
On September 10, Kanwalpreet, IRSS, Additional CEO of Government e-Marketplace (GeM), conducted “GeM – New Features & Functionalities.” M. K. Singh, former CMD of IRCON and professor at AJNIFM, took public procurement. On September 11, Singh continued with public procurement and post-award contract management, using case studies. Harish R., Scientist-C at C-DAC, handled cyber security and cyber hygiene, including awareness and secure practice at work.
Nominated executives from projects and Head Office joined the discussions and case work. The Vigilance Department said the programme is part of its effort to raise awareness, strengthen capacity and promote transparency, integrity and accountability across NMDC. Further awareness and training will run through the campaign period up to Vigilance Awareness Week 2026.
