Date: 21 Oct 2026 | New Delhi | Newsip Desk : The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas’s proposal to appoint Sunil Kumar, Executive Director at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Limited, as the company’s Chairman. The proposal was based on the recommendation of the SCSC.
Kumar’s appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge, on or after 7 December 2026. The post carries an IDA pay scale of Rs. 2,00,000–3,70,000.
The appointment is approved until Kumar’s superannuation on 31 December 2028, followed by a contract period. His combined tenure will be three years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
