Shri Vivek Nishant Nath Takes Charge as Director (Commercial) of NMDC Limited – Poised for a New Chapter
Hyderabad, 18th July 2026: In a move that has industry watchers anticipating fresh momentum, Shri Vivek Nishant Nath assumed charge as Director (Commercial) of NMDC Limited, India’s largest iron ore producer. With over three decades of formidable experience in the metal and mining sector, Shri Nath brings proven expertise in sales and marketing, international commercial operations, procurement, logistics, and supply chain management. His return to NMDC raises high expectations about the next phase of commercial transformation.
Shri Nath began his journey with NMDC in 1992, serving nearly 15 years in key commercial roles and mastering domestic iron ore sales and marketing. He later held senior positions at Essar Steel Limited and ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India before joining Odisha Mining Corporation Limited (OMC) as General Manager (Sales & Marketing) in 2021. Promoted to Chief General Manager (Sales & Marketing) in 2024, he took full charge of sales and marketing for iron ore, chrome ore, manganese ore, bauxite, limestone, and ferrochrome. At OMC, his leadership delivered striking results.
The company witnessed remarkable growth as he introduced customer-centric initiatives, transparent pricing mechanisms, digital systems, and logistics reforms. Iron ore sales soared from 12.33 million tonnes in FY21 to an impressive 38.26 million tonnes in FY26, accompanied by strong revenue gains.
Now back at the helm of NMDC’s commercial operations, all eyes are on how Shri Nath will replicate — and possibly surpass — this success, steering India’s mining powerhouse into an even stronger future.
