In a grand gesture of appreciation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is launching a widespread campaign to honor mechanics throughout India. Dubbed “Safe and Smooth Journeys,” this initiative aims to celebrate the vital contributions of these often overlooked professionals who play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of India’s transportation sector.

Extensive Campaign Details

The campaign, marking BPCL’s 50 years of establishment, will span 116 cities over a 30-day period. It features an impressive media blitz with over 18,000 radio spots on 13 leading radio stations, accumulating more than 16 lakh seconds of airtime. Notably, cricket icon Rahul Dravid, the brand ambassador for MAK Lubricants, a BPCL product, lends his voice to the campaign through audio jingles produced in 13 different languages.

Adding a personal touch, popular radio jockeys will include mentions during segments like time checks and traffic updates, broadening the campaign’s reach.

Engagement with the Mechanic Community

BPCL’s campaign takes an interactive turn with significant involvement from the mechanic community itself. Over 1,000 mechanics are set to participate in radio interviews to share their experiences, tips, and professional insights. Additionally, radio jockeys will visit more than 200 transport hubs for live broadcasts, engaging with mechanics directly.

The engagement doesn’t stop there. More than 5,000 mechanics will be welcomed at radio stations for meet-and-greet events. Furthermore, over 200 RJ-created social media reels will help amplify the campaign’s message, ensuring it reaches a nationwide audience. These activities are complemented by various below-the-line activations that will foster a deeper connection and pride within the mechanic community.

Kannan, Business Head of Lubes at BPCL, emphasized the campaign’s significance during the company’s milestone year. “As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we are proud to dedicate this initiative to the mechanics. Their dedication is essential for safe and smooth journeys across our nation,” he stated. This campaign not only shows BPCL’s appreciation for these workers but also strengthens the bond with the community by acknowledging their indispensable role.
