NHPC Advances on Multilevel Projects with Key Achievements
Recent updates from the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) reveal significant progress on several of its multilevel initiatives. A notable development in these series of projects is the successful completion of a critical phase in the Dibang Multipurpose Project, which boasts a capacity of 2880 MW.
Breakthrough in Dibang Multipurpose Project
On February 17, 2026, the Dibang Multipurpose Project marked a significant milestone with the daylighting of its third Diversion Tunnel (DT-3). The event was distinguished by the final blast, which was symbolically initiated by Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects) of NHPC. This pivotal moment took place in the presence of several key personnel, including Shri Narender Kumar, Executive Director & HoP-DMP, and Shri Umesh Kumar Nand, Executive Director (PMSG), along with other officials from NHPC and Larsen & Toubro (L&T).
In his remarks, Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh commended the relentless dedication of the workers, engineers, and all stakeholders involved. He highlighted their concerted efforts which led to the achievement of this milestone. Furthermore, he expressed optimism about the ongoing cooperation between NHPC teams and its associate contractors, emphasizing the importance of their continued partnership in overcoming the remaining challenges of the project and ensuring its completion as per schedule.
