In commemoration of World Heritage Day, Madhya Pradesh Tourism is spearheading groundbreaking advancements at the state’s UNESCO-acclaimed and potential heritage sites. These initiatives signify a steadfast dedication to heritage preservation while aiming to elevate visitor encounters through state-of-the-art technology. Aligning with this year’s World Heritage Day theme, “Discover and experience diversity,” Madhya Pradesh stands as a beacon of cultural richness.

The state boasts three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the iconic Khajuraho Group of Monuments, the ancient Stupas at Sanchi, and the prehistoric Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka. Additionally, it features ten sites on the Tentative List, each contributing to the diverse cultural landscape.

Introducing QR code-based audio guides, spectacular lights and sound shows, and advancements in Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR & VR), Madhya Pradesh ensures an immersive exploration of its heritage. With online ticketing systems, GIS mapping, and digital preservation techniques, the state pioneers in safeguarding its historical treasures for generations to come.
