Geeta Kapur has assumed the role of Chairman & Managing Director at SJVN, making history as the first woman to lead a Hydro CPSU within the Indian Power Sector. Having served as Director (Personnel), she now holds the dual responsibility, showcasing her prowess in leadership.
Smt. Geeta Kapur’s journey at SJVN began in 1992, where she broke barriers as the first female Personnel Officer and later became the inaugural full-time female Director in 2018. With over 31 years of dedicated service, her comprehensive experience in Human Resources, Civil Construction, and Civil Contracts has played a pivotal role in shaping SJVN’s success.
Expressing gratitude to her predecessors for their exemplary leadership, Smt. Geeta Kapur emphasized continuity in achieving greater heights for SJVN. Her leadership has propelled the company onto the prestigious ‘Great Place To Work’ list in January 2024.
Beyond her corporate role, Smt. Geeta Kapur serves as Chairperson of the SJVN ‘CSR Foundation,’ redefining growth benchmarks through initiatives in education, health, sanitation, and more. Additionally, she contributes to the boards of SJVN subsidiaries in Nepal, Buxar, Bihar, and SJVN Green Energy Limited.
