The collaborative efforts between India and Japan in the energy sector have reached a significant milestone through the Ministerial-level India-Japan Energy Dialogue. This dialogue, held on the 25th of August 2025 via Video Conferencing, marked a pivotal moment in the ongoing partnership between the two countries in the realm of energy cooperation.
Chaired by Shri Manohar Lal, Hon’ble Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, and Mr. Muto Yoji, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Government of Japan, the dialogue showcased a shared commitment to advancing energy security, fostering clean energy transitions, and combatting climate change.
During the dialogue, key ministries including MoP, MNRE, MoPNG, and Ministry of Coal presented updates on the progress achieved within their respective Joint Working Groups (JWGs) and outlined future pathways for collaboration. The emphasis was on areas such as energy efficiency, clean hydrogen, ammonia, and renewable energy.
The Ministers from both nations underscored their dedication to ensuring energy security and promoting inclusive growth. They celebrated the strides made in various sectors, including carbon capture, green chemicals, biofuels, and advanced energy technologies.
