New Delhi: In a recent announcement from New Delhi, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri unveiled details of the upcoming India Energy Week (IEW) 2026. Scheduled to take place from January 27 to 30, 2026, at ONGC ATI in Goa, this event is set to be the largest and most diverse yet, reflecting India’s pivotal role in global energy discussions.
During this highly anticipated event, more than 75,000 delegates, including 600 exhibitors and 180 international exhibitors, will converge to discuss future energy solutions. The gathering will include over 500 global speakers and more than 120 conference sessions, highlighting the event’s expansive growth since its first edition in 2023.
Minister Puri highlighted that IEW 2026 will serve as a critical platform for fostering international cooperation and dialogue across the energy sector, with confirmed attendance from 17 ministers and deputy ministers from various countries, including the UAE, Canada, Netherlands, Oman, Brunei, Myanmar, and Tanzania. Prominent international organizations like the International Energy Forum, BIMSTEC, and the Eurasian Economic Union will also participate.
The event will feature a comprehensive exhibition spread over 11 thematic zones showcasing advancements in digitalization, AI, hydrogen, renewable energy, petrochemicals, biofuels, and LNG, among others. Noteworthy additions to this year’s event include a Nuclear Energy Zone and a Sustainable Aviation Fuel Zone.
IEW 2026 is structured around ten strategic themes and will include four ministerial sessions, 47 panel discussions, and five Energy Talks with global leaders, focusing on key areas such as technology, market trends, and sustainability. The event will also emphasize the ‘Make in India’ initiative, with a dedicated pavilion promoting local manufacturing and technology-led innovations in collaboration with MSMEs, vendors, and startups.
The Minister also detailed several significant collaborations and agreements set to be finalized during the event, including partnerships involving major global and Indian energy companies aimed at enhancing energy security and advancing sustainable practices.
Additionally, the event will host various side activities, including the 9th Prime Minister’s Roundtable, and multiple international energy dialogues, enhancing bilateral and multilateral relations and fostering trade and investment in the energy sector.
Innovation will be a key focus, with initiatives like Avinya 2026 – the Startup Challenge and Vasudha 3.0 encouraging global participation and highlighting innovative solutions in the energy sector. The event will also see the launch of several important knowledge products, including a white paper on Biofuels Financing and the India Bioenergy Outlook 2030, aimed at guiding policy and investment in the energy sector.
In concluding his address, Minister Puri emphasized that IEW 2026 would not only underscore India’s commitment to energy security, economic growth, and sustainability but also enhance its stature as a central hub in the global energy landscape- By Z A Ansari
