भारतीय सेना के प्रतिष्ठानों में PNG अपनाने की दिशा में बड़ा कदम उठाया गया है। पहले चरण में 41 Army establishments को PNG conversion के लिए चुना गया है, जबकि 8 Army Stations और 6 CGD entities के बीच Letters of Understanding पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए हैं। यह समझौता 20,000 से अधिक households को कवर करता है।
इस पहल में Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), Think Gas, Torrent Gas, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) और Central U.P. Gas Limited (CUGL) शामिल हैं। CGD industry ने Army के PNG transition को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए सामूहिक समर्थन दिया है।
BPCL के Business Head – Gas, Shri Rahul Tandon ने कहा कि Army establishments को PNG से जोड़ना critical establishments के लिए reliable, continuous और future-ready energy ecosystem बनाने की दिशा में अहम कदम है। उनके अनुसार, **‘Sena Sampark – Nirantar Urja, Nirantar Suraksha’** Army, regulator और CGD industry को एक साझा लक्ष्य के लिए साथ लाता है। BPCL ने इस collective effort और Army की transition journey को support करने की प्रतिबद्धता दोहराई है।
इस कार्यक्रम के दौरान PNG Handbook भी जारी किया गया, जो Army establishments के लिए ready reference के रूप में काम करेगा। पहल के तहत network readiness, statutory permissions, regulatory requirements, infrastructure development, retrofitting और customer service पर coordinated planning के जरिए transition को आसान बनाया जाएगा।
Indian Army ने इस initiative को structured और time-bound manner में आगे बढ़ाने की प्रतिबद्धता जताई है। 12 establishments पहले से active participation में हैं, जबकि 29 अन्य establishments को भी प्रक्रिया में शामिल किया जा रहा है। इस तरह पहले चरण के सभी 41 establishments को कवर किया जा रहा है।
Army और participating CGD entities ने FY 2026-27 के अंत तक इन establishments के लिए PNG infrastructure और connections पूरा करने का लक्ष्य रखा है। यह कदम Indian Army, PNGRB और CGD industry के बीच collaboration को मजबूत करता है और Army establishments में wider PNG adoption के लिए मजबूत आधार तैयार करता है।
यह पहल 1 October 2026 से PNG Drive 3.0 के launch से पहले आई है, जिससे देशभर में PNG adoption को और momentum मिलने की उम्मीद
