28-10-2026 | Place: Noida |NewsIP Bureau: Kumar Shanker, Managing Director of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), said, “PNG Drive 3.0 represents IGL’s steadfast commitment to expanding clean energy infrastructure and enhancing customer reach.” IGL has introduced new incentives for domestic piped natural gas (PNG) registrations and gas-in conversions across Delhi-NCR and its authorised geographical areas.
Under the scheme, eligible customers can receive a ₹2,000 discount on standard PNG registration charges and ₹500 worth of free gas, credited automatically after their PNG connection is successfully activated. The company announced the offers at an event in Noida as part of its ongoing PNG Drive 3.0 initiative.
The schemes were launched by Ayush Gupta, Director (Human Resources) at GAIL (India) Limited. IGL Managing Director Kumar Shanker and Director (Commercial) Mohit Bhatia also attended, alongside community representatives, including Puneet Sharma, president of the Noida Federation of Apartment Owners Associations (NOFAA), and K. K. Jain, general secretary of the Federation of Noida Resident Welfare Associations (FONRWA).
Addressing residents, Gupta highlighted PNG as a safe, reliable and continuous cooking-fuel option, and encouraged households to consider moving from traditional fuels to natural gas. IGL said its drive includes outreach and collaboration with resident welfare associations and apartment owners’ associations to support household registrations and connections.
Shanker said the initiative is intended to expand access to clean energy and streamline the customer onboarding process. He added that working with RWAs and AOAs would help IGL improve household outreach and deliver connections more efficiently. The company said PNG Drive 3.0 supports wider efforts to increase natural gas use and promote lower-carbon energy choices in urban areas.
NOFAA calls for PNG adoption in high-rise societies
Puneet Sharma urged high-rise communities to work with IGL on PNG connections, citing safety and affordability. “It is imperative that all High-Rise Societies partner with IGL in masses for a secured, affordable transition to PNG connections in their own interest,” he said, adding that NOFAA would support the drive.
FONRWA backs household PNG connections
K. K. Jain said FONRWA supports IGL’s efforts to extend domestic PNG connections across the region. He also commended the company’s continued supply during international disruptions, referring to the Gulf War crisis in his remarks at the event.
IGL’s city gas network
IGL says its city gas distribution network spans Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Faridabad and other cities and areas. The company reports a pipeline network of more than 30,000 kilometres, over 1,000 CNG stations and nearly 3.5 million household PNG connections.
