Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, celebrated its 37th Raising Day on 23 October 2026. A cultural evening was held in Gurugram on 24 October to mark the occasion. Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Power), Government of India, attended as Chief Guest.
Among those attending were Shri Ghanshyam Prasad, Chairman of the Central Electricity Authority; Dr. D. Saibaba, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power; and Shri Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra, CMD, POWERGRID. POWERGRID’s Directors—Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi, Shri Naveen Srivastava, Shri Amol Taori and Shri Akhilesh Pathak—and other dignitaries were also present.
As of 30 September 2026, POWERGRID operated 293 substations, more than 187,576 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 649,116 MVA of transformation capacity.
The company said it uses advanced technologies, automation and digital solutions to manage its network. POWERGRID has consistently maintained average transmission system availability of more than 99.81%.
