Petronet LNG’s Rs. 1200 Crore Revenue Boost

Petronet LNG’s Rs. 1200 Crore Revenue Boost

Petronet LNG Limited’s CEO, Shri A. K. Singh, announced a significant partnership with Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DFPCL) as they inked a regasification agreement with Performance Chemiserve Limited (PCL) for a duration of 5.5 years. This collaboration, set to commence between May and July 2026 and run until December 31, 2031, will see Petronet LNG Limited regasifying approximately 25.6 TBTUs of LNG yearly at its Dahej terminal for the DFPCL group.

The agreement, expected to bring in revenue of around Rs. 1200 crore for Petronet LNG Limited, with a potential additional revenue generation of up to 20% over the contract’s lifespan, will primarily cater to the manufacturing units of DFPCL group at Taloja. This strategic move not only bolsters PLL’s long-term business prospects but also aligns with the nation’s energy security and industrial growth objectives.

Petronet LNG Limited, a key player in the energy and infrastructure sector, has been actively expanding its operations, handling approximately 18 MMTPA LNG in the fiscal year 2024-25 across its terminals, with Dahej emerging as a flagship regas terminal.

The recent regasification agreement follows DFPCL’s LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement with Equinor, reinforcing their stronghold across the natural gas value chain. Shri A. K. Singh emphasized the collaboration’s significance in enhancing energy security and industrial growth, aligning with the Government of India’s vision to elevate natural gas’s share in the country’s energy mix.

DFPCL’s Chairman, Shri Sailesh C. Mehta, highlighted the agreement’s role in fortifying their supply chain and operational efficiency, ensuring consistent access to cost-effective natural gas for their diversified product lines. This integrated approach is poised to drive forward DFPCL’s expansion into specialized solutions, enhancing energy security and operational competitiveness.

The signing ceremony, held on July 10, 2025, at PLL’s corporate office in New Delhi, witnessed the presence of key officials, underscoring the strategic importance of the agreement. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the journey towards a sustainable and efficient energy ecosystem, fostering growth and innovation across sectors.
