Mumbai, April 1, 2026: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), recognized globally among the Fortune 500 companies and a premier player in the Indian oil and gas sector, today announced the appointment of Shri Subhankar Sen, currently the Director (Marketing), as the interim Director (Human Resources).
Shri Subhankar Sen, an alumnus of the University of Calcutta with a Post Graduate Diploma in Executive Management from the S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research in Mumbai, boasts over thirty years of extensive experience at BPCL. His tenure at the company has seen him steering various major departments such as Retail, LPG, Lubricants, Aviation, Industrial & Commercial, Gas, and Consumer Retailing.
In his role as Director (Marketing), Shri Sen has played a pivotal role in enhancing BPCL’s visibility in the market, spearheading initiatives focused on customer engagement, and playing a critical role in the company’s strategy towards an integrated energy transition. Now, as he assumes the additional responsibilities of Director (HR), his focus will shift towards shaping the company’s strategies for human resources, emphasizing talent cultivation, leadership development, and organizational change, aiming to equip BPCL for future challenges and ongoing growth.
In a related development, Shri Subhankar Sen has also been named the Chairman of Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), effective from April 01, 2026. He succeeds Shri Raj Kumar Dubey, following a routine rotational nomination process among the promoter entities of the company. Shri Sen is expected to infuse IGL with a robust strategy focused on sustainable growth and enhancing customer satisfaction.
