Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) reported record first-half crude throughput, pipeline throughput and sales volume for H1 2026-27, alongside higher revenue from operations and net profit compared with the same period a year earlier.
The company said its refineries processed 37.273 million metric tonnes (MMT) of crude oil during the half-year, up from 36.292 MMT in H1 2025-26. Refinery capacity utilisation was 105.8%. IndianOil also reported a record 53.896 MMT of throughput across its cross-country pipelines, a 7% increase from 50.343 MMT a year earlier.
Sales and market share increase
Total sales volume rose 2% to 51.439 MMT from 50.590 MMT. IndianOil said domestic petroleum products sales reached a record high and its domestic market share increased to 42.7%, from 41.5% in H1 2025-26—a rise of 1.2 percentage points.

The company reported higher sales of key products: motor spirit sales grew 9% to 8.946 MMT, high-speed diesel sales increased 8% to 19.862 MMT, and fuel oil sales rose 27% to 1.660 MMT. IndianOil also said its fuel and loss rate was 8.28%, the lowest H1 figure it had recorded in the post-BS-VI scenario.
The company attributed current-quarter profitability largely to a temporary decline in crude oil prices from mid-June to mid-August and strong petrochemical and gas margins. It cautioned that profitability in coming quarters could face pressure from inventory losses if crude prices fall as conditions in the Middle East normalise.
