NHPC’s 49th AGM Recap: Achievements & Future Prospects

The 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of NHPC was a significant event held on 30.08.2025, conducted via video conferencing from its Registered Office in Faridabad.

Shareholders deliberated on various crucial matters, including the proposal for a final dividend of Rs.0.51/- per equity share for the fiscal year 2024-25, supplementing the interim dividend of Rs.1.40/- per equity share distributed in March 2025.

During the AGM, Shri R.P. Goyal, NHPC’s CMD, engaged with the shareholders, providing insights into the company’s performance. The meeting saw the presence of esteemed members of NHPC’s Board, such as Shri Uttam Lal, Director (Personnel), Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Director (Projects), and other key stakeholders including Independent Directors and Government Nominee Directors.

Shri Goyal commended NHPC’s resilience in the face of challenges, highlighting the exceptional financial performance achieved in 2024-25. Notably, the year marked a significant milestone with NHPC being conferred with the prestigious Navratna status, enhancing its operational flexibility and growth prospects. Celebrating its 50th Raising Day, NHPC embarked on its Golden Jubilee Year, symbolizing its enduring legacy and unwavering dedication to India’s energy sector.

The CMD underscored key accomplishments, including the successful completion of the 800 MW Parbati-II Hydro Electric Project in Himachal Pradesh, showcasing NHPC’s engineering prowess. Additionally, the commissioning of 214.28 MW capacity at the Karnisar Solar Project in Rajasthan reflected NHPC’s strategic diversification into solar energy. Progress at the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Project in Arunachal Pradesh/Assam was also highlighted, with imminent clearance from the National Dam Safety Authority awaited for the commissioning of three 250 MW units.

Shri Goyal ensured that shareholders’ queries were diligently addressed during the AGM, fostering transparency and accountability within the organization. The event encapsulated NHPC’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth, setting a strong foundation for its future endeavors.
