Amidst criticism from the opposition regarding increasing unemployment, Hardeep Singh Puri, a minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet, has described the distribution of appointment letters as a pledge for nation-building and the development of a progressive India. This occurred during the 18th Rozgar Mela, a recruitment initiative that extends across India.
On this occasion, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force’s Transport Battalion in Chandigarh’s Behlana Camp conducted the latest Rozgar Mela. This event is part of a broader, transparent, and inclusive hiring push by the Indian government aimed at bolstering public institutions and providing opportunities for the nation’s youth.
During the event, Hardeep Singh Puri, the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, handed out appointment letters to 107 individuals for positions in various government sectors in the presence of senior ITBP officers and other high-ranking officials.
The recipients of these letters were selected for roles across multiple ministries and departments, showcasing the government’s efforts to create diverse job opportunities. Positions were allocated in several prestigious organizations and sectors, including the ITBP, CRPF, CISF, and various banks and technology departments.
In his address, Minister Puri congratulated the appointees and highlighted the significance of their roles in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047, an initiative led by Prime Minister Modi. He emphasized that these new roles are not merely symbolic but are crucial to enhancing India’s administrative and service frameworks.
Moreover, Puri spoke about India’s trajectory of economic transformation, from managing shortages to enhancing national capabilities. He stressed the importance of inclusive growth and encouraged the new employees to uphold values of service, integrity, and professionalism in their roles.
The Rozgar Mela has proven to be a substantial move by the government, with over 11 lakh job letters issued since its inception, playing a significant role in Modi’s employment strategy.
The program also included a virtual address by Dr. Jitendra Singh, who noted that a large portion of the jobs provided in this edition of the Rozgar Mela were in sectors related to home affairs and internal security, reflecting a focus on strengthening these areas.
Concluding the event, Prime Minister Modi virtually engaged with the new employees across 44 locations nationwide, motivating them to embrace their roles as part of a larger commitment to national development. He linked the distribution of appointment letters to a broader call for civic duty and nation-building, marking them as a crucial step toward realizing a developed India by 2047. He also highlighted India’s economic strides and the increasing global confidence in India’s growth and development potential.
