New Delhi, June 30, 2026: Shri Atul Gupta has assumed charge as Chairman and Managing Director of Engineers India Ltd (EIL) effective June 29, 2026.
The appointment comes after prolonged wait, following approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). EIL’s corporate team formally communicated the development.
A Mechanical Engineer from GBPUAT, Pantnagar, Shri Gupta brings over three decades of rich experience in conceptualising and executing complex projects across domestic and international markets.
He has successfully led cross-functional teams to deliver multi-billion-dollar projects on time, within cost, and to the highest quality standards.
Prior to taking over as CMD, Shri Gupta served as Director (Commercial) since August 2022, steering Business Development and Supply Chain Management with emphasis on growth, operational excellence, transparency, efficiency, and value creation.
He played a key role in shaping commercial plans, policies, governance frameworks, and business strategies aligned with EIL’s corporate goals.
Known for championing collaboration as the foundation of sustainable progress, he consistently fostered teamwork and empowered professionals to meet organisational objectives. Under his leadership in the Commercial Directorate, EIL strengthened its order book, expanded its international footprint, and consolidated its domestic market presence.
Shri Gupta also drove initiatives to broaden the company’s reach in infrastructure and diversified sectors while promoting sustainable and technology-driven solutions.
His contributions have advanced the Government of India’s Make in India initiative, bolstering indigenisation, self-reliance, and nation-building efforts.
