EIL Makes Strategic Maritime Entry with Offshore Safety Training Standards Mandate

New Delhi, November 4, 2026:  – In a significant diversification move, **Engineers India Limited (EIL) has been entrusted to provide Consultancy Services for Development of Indian Standards for Offshore Safety Training and Certification.

The prestigious award marks a strategic entry of the Navratna PSU into the new and diversified area of Maritime sector, expanding its footprint beyond its core expertise in hydrocarbon and infrastructure consultancy.

A New Chapter for EIL

The mandate entrusts EIL with the critical responsibility of developing robust, world-class Indian Standards for offshore safety training and certification. This initiative is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening India’s maritime safety ecosystem, aligning domestic practices with global best practices for offshore operations.

Industry sources said the development of indigenous standards will enhance safety protocols for personnel working in offshore installations, a sector witnessing rapid growth amid India’s expanding energy and maritime ambitions.

The move is in line with the Government of India’s vision of **Aatmanirbhar Bharat** and **Maritime India Vision 2030**, which emphasizes self-reliance in standards, safety, and skilled manpower for the blue economy.
