GOA : In a recent development at India Energy Week 2026, held in Goa, the Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, unveiled the Hydrogen Zone. This segment, organized by Oil India, is dedicated to the latest advancements in hydrogen technology, which are vital to India’s strategy for a low-carbon energy shift.
The Hydrogen Zone aggregates pioneering strategies in the production, storage, and application of hydrogen, providing a holistic view of its role in global clean energy initiatives. This platform demonstrates how hydrogen technology can play a crucial role in decarbonizing sectors that are traditionally difficult to transform, including refining, fertilizer production, steel manufacturing, and transportation. It also aims to establish India as a formidable force in the burgeoning global hydrogen economy.
This zone is one of eleven meticulously planned thematic areas at India Energy Week 2026, each designed to enhance the exhibition experience. These zones enable meaningful interactions among policymakers, industry executives, investors, and technology innovators, fostering discussions that align with their strategic interests.
By showcasing such innovations, the Hydrogen Zone contributes significantly to the overarching goals of India Energy Week, emphasizing the event’s importance as a nexus for discussing technologies, policies, and partnerships. These discussions are essential for promoting secure, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions both in India and globally.
The event has attracted over 75,000 professionals from the energy sector, including representatives from more than 700 companies across over 120 countries. The featured thematic zones cover a broad array of critical topics, ranging from Hydrogen and Renewable Energy to Digitalization & AI, Biofuels, the LNG Ecosystem, City Gas Distribution, Petrochemicals, the Make in India initiative, and the India Net-Zero Zone, highlighting new advancements and opportunities within each field.
