New Delhi, July 29, 2026: A quiet revolution in India’s long-haul logistics began today at CONCOR’s Multi-Modal Logistics Park in Dadri. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) commissioned the National Capital Region’s first dedicated Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) station, opening a cleaner, longer-range fuel option for heavy trucks that criss-cross the country’s freight corridors.
The facility was inaugurated by Sanjay Swaroop, Chairman & Managing Director, CONCOR, in the presence of Vijay Kumar Singh, Director (International Marketing and Operations), CONCOR; Kumar Shanker, Managing Director, IGL; Mohit Bhatia, Director (Commercial), IGL; and senior officials from both organisations.
Built at an investment of ₹11.8 crore on a 4,200 sq m plot under the Company Owned Company Operated model, the station is equipped with a 56.8 KL (≈22 MT) LNG storage tank, a 150 LPM dispenser and a 100 SCMH low-pressure vaporiser. It can refuel 50–60 long-haul vehicles a day and has a peak dispensing capacity of 20 metric tonnes of LNG daily. Fuel is currently sourced from Dahej, Gujarat.
LNG’s higher energy density delivers longer driving range and significantly lower emissions than diesel, making it a practical and economical choice for heavy commercial vehicles. The Dadri station directly supports the national goal of raising natural gas’s share in the energy mix, cutting dependence on conventional fuels and accelerating the shift toward sustainable mobility.
With this commissioning, IGL has expanded its clean-energy footprint beyond CNG and PNG into the LNG segment, reinforcing its role in building the infrastructure needed for greener freight movement across northern India.
