Churachandpur, March 4, 2024 — The spirit of patriotism soared as the Red Shield Division of Spear Corps, under the aegis of the Kumaon Regiment, orchestrated a stirring Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally at Kaprang. Following successful rallies in Bishnupur and Senapati, the event on March 4 garnered a remarkable attendance of 878 veterans, 11 Veer Naris, 132 widows, and 44 dependents. Distinguished by the presence of 1965 and 1971 war veterans, along with numerous Kargil war Gallantry awardees, the rally unfolded with the esteemed presence of Maj Gen SS Kartikeya,SM, GOC, Red Shield Division, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the veterans and their families.
The focal point of the rally was to facilitate ESMs in addressing grievances related to pension documentation and other anomalies. Dedicated assistance booths provided comprehensive support, addressing crucial matters such as healthcare, pension anomalies, and ECHS Polyclinic services. The rally resounded with patriotic fervor, echoing “Bharat Mata ki jai” and “Tagra Raho,” as veterans fondly reminisced about the golden days of their service to the nation.
