Guwahati, May 25, 2024: In a bid to address the growing concern of waste management, Oil India Limited (OIL) and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) have embarked on an innovative initiative to convert waste into wealth.
The companies are setting up 8-10 Compressed Bio-Gas Plants in Assam and other North-East states, paving the way for a cleaner and more sustainable future.
Dr. Ranjit Rath, CMD, OIL, and Chairman, NRL, emphasized the importance of waste segregation and the potential for startups to contribute to this initiative. OIL and NRL are collaborating with Urban Local Bodies to streamline municipal solid waste collection and develop the OIL Township at Duliajan into a model SMART city, showcasing cutting-edge waste management practices.
Financial Conclusion:
This waste-to-wealth initiative is expected to generate significant revenue for OIL and NRL through the production of biogas and other value-added products.
