MP Tourism Board Promotes Heritage Circuit

Vidisha, Gyaraspur, and Udaygiri Caves, a trio of historic destinations near Bhopal, are being promoted by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board as a unique heritage circuit. Vidisha, a town steeped in history and culture, boasts structures dating back to the second century, including the famous Sanchi Stupa and Vijaymandir Temple. Gyaraspur, 37 km away, is home to ancient ruins like the Maladevi Temple and Hindola Torana. Udaygiri Caves, 6.5 km from Vidisha, feature stunning rock carvings and Brahmi inscriptions from the Gupta era. This circuit offers a glimpse into the region’s rich archaeological heritage and is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. The nearest railway station is Vidisha, and the nearest airport is Bhopal,
64 km away. The best time to visit is from September to March.
