In a significant development, Oil India Limited (OIL) and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) have entered into a long-term agreement for the transportation of additional petroleum products through the Numaligarh-Siliguri Product Pipeline (NSPL).
The definitive agreement, signed on May 20, 2024, in New Delhi, paves the way for the evacuation of more petroleum products from NRL’s refinery to the Siliguri marketing terminal, and subsequently to various demand centers in eastern and northern India.
With this agreement, OIL and NRL are poised to play a crucial role in meeting the growing energy demands of the region, in line with the Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for Northeast India. The deal is a testament to the companies’ commitment to strengthening the energy infrastructure in the region.
The agreement was signed by Shri Pankaj Kumar Goswami, Director (Operations), OIL, and Shri Sanjay Choudhury, Director (Finance), NRL, in the presence of Dr. Ranjit Rath, Chairman & Managing Director, OIL, and Chairman, NRL.
