This strategic deployment is the result of a collaborative effort involving the BPCL Foundation, HLL Infra Tech Services Limited (HITES), and the Directorate General Health Services (DGHS) of Haryana under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP). The primary goal is to bolster early TB detection and accelerate diagnostic processes throughout the state.

The distribution of these 150 WHO-endorsed diagnostic machines will cover Primary Health Centers (PHCs), Community Health Centers (CHCs), and district healthcare facilities across approximately 22 districts in Haryana. This deployment is poised to play a crucial role in the state’s efforts toward realizing a TB-free status, underscoring the pivotal role of partnerships between the government and public sector enterprises in enhancing healthcare access, especially in rural and marginalized areas.

By utilizing TrueNat technology, which facilitates rapid and precise molecular diagnostics for Tuberculosis and Rifampicin-resistant TB with results available in about one hour, the project aims to minimize diagnostic delays and expand access to quality health services in less served regions.

With an impressive annual testing capacity estimated at around 5.4 lakh tests, the initiative is set to significantly fortify the decentralized TB diagnostic framework in Haryana. Early detection and treatment of TB cases will be enhanced, thereby aiding in curbing the spread of the disease within communities.

The inauguration event saw participation from prominent state officials, including Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Haryana, and Dr. Rajesh Raju, State TB Officer, Haryana. BPCL was represented by Mr. Manish Kumar Garg, State Head (LPG) for Delhi, Haryana & Uttarakhand, and Mr. Kelvin Christie, Manager (CSR) at BPCL.

By supporting this health initiative, BPCL reiterates its dedication to nation-building through consequential CSR efforts in healthcare. In alignment with the Government of India’s vision for a “TB Mukt Bharat,” the BPCL Foundation continues to drive forward initiatives that not only address critical national health issues but also enhance the overall well-being of the community.
