On December 19, 2025, at the NTPC Power Management Institute in Noida, IIT Kanpur was declared the winner of the prestigious Electron Quiz 2025, a national quiz competition organized by NTPC. The event saw fierce competition from top academic institutions like IIM Calcutta, IIM Nagpur, IIM Lucknow, IIT Madras, and XLRI Jamshedpur.
The victorious duo from IIT Kanpur, Aditya Padhi and Sparsh Pradeep Jain, clinched the title along with a cash prize of Rs 1 Lakh. Close on their heels were Prashant Singh Chauhan and Nishchay Shopurkar from IIM Lucknow, who took home Rs 60,000 as the first runners-up. The second runners-up were Kumar Kirti and Sivadharshan S from IIM Calcutta, who were awarded Rs 40,000.
The event was presided over by Anil Kumar Jadli, Director (HR) at NTPC, who emphasized the Electron Quiz’s role in drawing the nation’s brightest academic talents and promoting a rich exchange of knowledge. He remarked on the quiz’s growth into a renowned cognitive and cultural exchange, enhancing the relationship between NTPC and educational institutions across India.
The 2025 edition of the Electron Quiz saw substantial participation, drawing 639 teams that competed in regional rounds across major cities such as Ranchi, Raipur, Mumbai, Lucknow, Kolkata, Patna, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Noida, from November 22 to December 17. The competition reached its zenith with the National Semi-Finals and the National Finale in December at the PMI.
The Electron Quiz is a cornerstone initiative by NTPC to foster intellectual engagement and critical thinking among students, while also reinforcing its ties with the academic world.
