NBCC Reinforces Commitment to Infrastructure Development in Seychelles
The Chairman and Managing Director of NBCC (India) Limited, Shri K. P. Mahadevaswamy, recently reiterated the company’s dedication to delivering high-quality, sustainable infrastructure solutions. He spoke about this commitment during a significant meeting at the NBCC headquarters in the World Trade Center, New Delhi, which was graced by the visit of the Vice-President of the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Sebastien Pillay.
This occasion highlighted the deepening relationship between India and Seychelles, emphasizing ongoing projects such as the construction of the Indian Chancery Building, a Cultural Centre, and Residential Units in Seychelles. These initiatives are a testament to India’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its bilateral ties and development partnership with Seychelles.
High-Level Discussions on Seychelles Infrastructure Development
The visit by Vice-President Pillay, leading a high-level delegation, facilitated detailed discussions with NBCC’s senior officers. The focus of the talks was on expanding infrastructure within approximately 139 acres on one of Seychelles’ islands. The envisioned development includes:
- Affordable social housing
- Leisure and hospitality facilities
- Premium villas
- A sports arena
- Comprehensive social infrastructure
These discussions build on previous high-level meetings held earlier in the year when the CMD of NBCC visited Seychelles, laying the groundwork for robust collaboration.
The Seychelles delegation was also introduced to NBCC’s capabilities through a showcase of the successful completion of the 2000 Social Housing Project in Hulhumale, Maldives. Notably, this project highlighted the significant role of skilled Indian workforce and construction materials in its realization.
The confidence in NBCC’s capabilities and the appreciation for the detailed presentations were openly expressed by Vice-President Pillay and his team.
Strengthening India-Seychelles Relations
The visit of Vice-President Pillay not only underscores the strong partnership between India and Seychelles but also highlights the shared vision of enhancing infrastructure development in the island nation. Both countries continue to benefit from these high-level exchanges, fostering growth and development in various sectors, particularly in infrastructure.
As NBCC moves forward with its projects in Seychelles, the emphasis remains on innovation, sustainability, and strengthening international ties, paving the way for future cooperation between the two nations.
