NBCC & Delhi University Launch Rs.370 Cr Campus Housing

NBCC (India) Limited, in collaboration with the University of Delhi, is poised to commence construction on a state-of-the-art Hostel cum Residential Block at the Dhaka Complex. This project, a significant part of the Institution of Eminence initiative, is backed by an investment exceeding Rs.370 crore. It aims to redefine student accommodation with its focus on modern amenities, eco-friendly design, and comprehensive facilities that support academic excellence.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

The project’s groundbreaking, or Bhoomi Poojan, was celebrated on September 29, 2025. This event was graced by notable figures such as Prof. Yogesh Singh, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi, Dr. Vikas Gupta, the University’s Registrar, and Prof Balaram Pani, the Dean of Colleges. Additionally, key representatives from NBCC, including Shri K.P. Mahadevaswamy, the CMD, Shri Saleem Ahmad, Director (Projects), and Shri Rajeev Kumar, Chief General Manager, were in attendance alongside other senior officials and esteemed guests from both institutions.

Accommodation Details

The new complex is designed to house over 1,400 students and features separate blocks for male and female residents. The accommodation options are varied, catering to different needs: from single rooms to triple sharing, married en-suite, and master apartments. The facility spans a 7.28-acre site and includes a built-up area of roughly 70,000 square meters. Notably, the design allocates 20% of the area to greenscapes and includes parking for over 400 vehicles.

Facilities for Students and Faculty

Residents will benefit from spacious dining halls, indoor recreation areas, libraries, computer rooms, as well as laundry and utility services. Special amenities are also provided for faculty and married students, ensuring a supportive environment for all members of the university community.
