Bank of Baroda, a prominent Indian public sector bank, recently conducted a Mega Camp in Amhat village, Sultanpur district, Uttar Pradesh on August 23, 2025. The event was part of the nationwide Saturation Campaign initiated by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India. The campaign, active from July 1 to September 30, 2025, aims to achieve complete coverage under financial inclusion and social security schemes at the Gram Panchayat (GP) and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) level.
Bank of Baroda, serving as the convenor of the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) in Uttar Pradesh, played a crucial role in orchestrating the Mega Camp.
The event was graced by distinguished personalities including Shri M. Nagaraju, IAS – Secretary, Department of Financial Services; Shri Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Baroda; Shri Ankur Kaushik, IAS, Chief Development Officer of Sultanpur; Shri Shailendra Kumar Singh, Convenor of Uttar Pradesh State Level Bankers’ Committee & Zonal Head, Lucknow Zone; and Shri Mithlesh Kumar, General Manager & Zonal Head, Varanasi Zone. The Mega Camp saw an impressive turnout of over 1,000 local residents.
In his address, Shri M. Nagaraju emphasized the significance of financial inclusion and the accessibility of banking services for all citizens. He highlighted the government’s efforts in empowering underserved communities through initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY). The campaign aims to ensure that every eligible individual benefits from these schemes by reaching every Gram Panchayat and Urban Local Body.

- Claim cheques distributed under PMJJBY
- Insurance certificates under PMJJBY and PMSBY, along with APY enrollment receipts distributed
- Re-KYC process conducted for eligible PMJDY accounts
- Felicitations for outstanding performance of Business Correspondents (BCs) and BC Sakhis
Bank representatives from all banks under the Uttar Pradesh State Level Bankers’ Committee actively engaged in the Mega Camp, showcasing the banking fraternity’s commitment to advancing the government’s goal of universal financial access and social security coverage.
