  • The event witnessed the presence of Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, State Ministers, and other eminent dignitaries.
  • The project, situated at Chausa in District Buxar, Bihar, is being executed by SJVN Thermal Private Limited, a subsidiary of SJVN.
  • With cutting-edge supercritical technology, the plant promises enhanced efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

  • This initiative is set to bolster power supply in Bihar and the Eastern Region, mitigating peak-hour shortages and bolstering energy security. The construction phase saw the utilization of substantial amounts of steel and cement, fostering the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat by supporting local industries.
  • The project has been a catalyst for employment generation, engaging around 5,000 workers annually during the construction phase, with a focus on empowering local residents. It has not only created direct and indirect job opportunities but has also stimulated growth in local businesses, contributing to the overall economic progress of the region.
  • Furthermore, SJVN has been actively involved in community development initiatives focusing on education, healthcare, sanitation, drinking water, and women empowerment, ensuring holistic growth and enduring social benefits.
  • Established as a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh, SJVN has evolved from the 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh to a diversified portfolio encompassing Hydro, Thermal, Wind, Solar, Power Transmission, and Power Trading.
