Oil India Limited has informed that its wholly owned subsidiary, OIL Green Energy Limited (OGEL), has incorporated a joint venture company, Hind Oil Biofuels Private Limited, in India. The company was incorporated on October 13, 2026.
Hind Oil Biofuels will focus on producing compressed biogas, biofuels and related products from municipal solid waste. Its proposed activities also include generating energy from waste and producing associated by-products and co-products.
OGEL holds a 50% shareholding in the joint venture. It has subscribed ₹5 lakh for 50,000 equity shares at ₹10 per share. The company’s initial authorised share capital is ₹1 crore, divided into 10 lakh equity shares.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas approved the formation of the joint venture on June 11, 2025, with the concurrence of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, according to the company’s disclosure.
