New Delhi: In a display of resolute leadership, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Dr. P.K. Mishra, graced the Silkyara rescue operation site today in Uttarkashi. Navigating through the intricate labyrinth of rescue efforts, Dr. Mishra toured the horizontal drilling site, meticulously maneuvering through debris within the tunnel. His inspection extended to the vertical drilling sites managed by Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL), leaving no stone unturned in ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the ongoing operations.
In a remarkable show of empathy and assurance, Dr. Mishra engaged with the trapped workers directly, conveying unwavering confidence in their imminent safe rescue. The trapped workers, inspired by the high-profile visit, radiated optimism as they exchanged words with the Principal Secretary. Acknowledging the crucial role time plays in such operations, Dr. Mishra underscored the necessity for a swift yet meticulously executed rescue. He directed agencies to prioritize the safety of both personnel and machinery, emphasizing the imperative of timely provision of sustenance and daily essentials to those confined within the tunnel. Beyond physical well-being, Dr. Mishra stressed the significance of mental health, urging continuous health monitoring, advisories by the health department, and periodic counseling sessions for the trapped individuals. Assuring unwavering support from the Government of India, he reiterated that various agencies and organizations across the nation would collaborate seamlessly for the success of this rescue operation. A comprehensive briefing unfolded as officers from diverse agencies such as NHIDCL, RVNL, SJVNL, ONGC, THDC, CIMFR, BRO, GSI, international experts, and private entities shared insights into their respective roles in the ongoing rescue efforts. Their collective efforts, he noted, formed the backbone of this intricate and challenging operation.
