A landmark achievement in this journey came when Panipat Refinery became India’s first to secure the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) CORSIA, endorsing IOC’s capability to produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). With this, IndianOil will be the first in the country to produce SAF through co-processing used cooking oil (UCO), positioning itself as a frontrunner in India’s green aviation mission.

This directly supports the national SAF blending targets of 1% for all international flights by 2027, rising to 2% thereafter. Strengthening this effort, IndianOil has also signed an MoU with Air India for SAF supply. At the core of this transition lies IndianOil’s leadership in hydrogen.

The company is setting up India’s largest Green Hydrogen Plant of 10 KTA capacity at Panipat, alongside a multi-pronged strategy to cut its carbon footprint through green hydrogen, CBG, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and more.
