In a distinguished ceremony held in New Delhi, two former communication experts from NTPC were celebrated for their exemplary contributions to the field. Shri K.M. Prashanth, who previously served as the General Manager (Corporate Communications) at NTPC, was bestowed with the “Indian Public Sector Enterprise (IPSE) Doyen of the Decade (Public Sector)” Award. This accolade recognized his significant impact on NTPC, India’s foremost public enterprise in the power and renewable energy sectors.
The award was presented on April 30, 2026, by Shri Anil Razdan, a former Secretary of Power, Government of India. The ceremony, hosted at the SCOPE Convention Centre, saw the presence of notable former executives such as Shri Sandeep Gupta and Shri A.K. Singh.
Shri K.M. Prashanth has an impressive track record, boasting over three decades of experience in corporate communications, human resources, and corporate affairs. His strategic insights and leadership in communication have been instrumental in advancing NTPC’s objectives.
Simultaneously, Shri J.P. Sharma, who formerly held the position of Deputy General Manager (Corporate Communications) at NTPC, was honored with the IPSE Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence. His enduring contributions to corporate communications were highlighted during the event.
The IPSE Awards, coordinated by the PSE Journal in collaboration with the ENERTIA Foundation, aim to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding achievements within India’s public sector. These awards highlight the critical role played by public enterprises in contributing to the nation’s economic growth, emphasizing both the organizational and individual accomplishments within these entities.
