BPCL’s Big Reveal: Bharatgas Lite Arrives in Goa

GOA: On January 28, 2026, in Goa, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), recognized globally as a Fortune Global 500 entity and distinguished in India as a Maharatna PSU, unveiled ‘Bharatgas Lite’ – a revolutionary LPG cylinder designed from superior composite materials. This launch represents a pivotal advancement in providing safer, easily manageable, and user-centric cooking gas solutions to the households in Goa.

The introduction ceremony of Bharatgas Lite, tagged as ‘Naye Bharat Ka Naya Cylinder’, was graced by the Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, alongside Goa’s Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, and other notable figures from the Ministry and BPCL. This event highlighted BPCL’s dedication to continuous improvement and innovation within the domestic LPG market.

Bharatgas Lite is distinguished by its composition, being more than half as light as traditional mild steel cylinders. This attribute significantly eases its handling, transportation, and installation. The cylinder features a translucent body that allows users to monitor the LPG quantity, ensuring timely refills and preventing sudden shortages. Its non-corrosive composite build promotes a cleaner kitchen environment free from rust issues prevalent in steel cylinders, and its design is robust against explosions, enhancing safety in extreme scenarios.

T. V. Pandiyan, BPCL’s Business Head – LPG, commented on the launch, stating that Bharatgas Lite exemplifies BPCL’s initiative towards redefining daily energy solutions with an emphasis on innovative, customer-focused design. Incorporating cutting-edge materials with improved safety features and convenience, Bharatgas Lite aims to align with the progressive vision of a new India.

Further enhancing the safety standards, Bharatgas Lite minimizes leakage risks and external damages, offers better reliability, and features a contemporary design that suits modern kitchen aesthetics.

The unveiling took place during the India Energy Week, emphasizing BPCL’s role in presenting consumer-centric innovations at global forums, thereby influencing the ongoing development of India’s energy framework.

For customer accessibility: – Bharatgas Lite is available to new customers under the same registration conditions as traditional cylinders. – Existing customers with non-subsidized connections can switch to Bharatgas Lite through a cylinder exchange program by paying an additional security deposit.

New users can directly opt for Bharatgas Lite with a security deposit of ₹2,500, following the standard documentation and onboarding procedures for LPG connections.

With Bharatgas Lite, BPCL reinforces its leadership in the LPG industry, merging safety, convenience, and modern aesthetics with the evolving needs of Indian consumers.
