NMDC Limited has announced the appointment of two new Non-Official Independent Directors to its Board. As per the Ministry of Steel, Government of India’s order (No. 1/1/2025-BLA, dated May 15, 2025), Shri Bharat Baburao Patil and Shri Mahendra Singh Rao have been appointed for a term of three years from May 15, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Profiles of the New Directors Shri Bharat Baburao Patil: With over 25 years of diverse experience in education, infrastructure, public administration, and social service, Shri Patil is a distinguished leader. Holding qualifications in political science and law, his visionary approach has significantly contributed to Maharashtra’s development. Currently, he serves as Chairman of Vidhyavardhini Shikshan Sanstha, Karad, driving educational excellence. As the founder of SAIO Infra, he spearheaded Asia’s longest ropeway project connecting Mahabaleshwar to Pratapgad. Additionally, he contributes as the Honorary Wildlife Warden for Satara District and Vice President of the Satara District Athletic Association.
Shri Mahendra Singh Rao: Hailing from Rajasthan, Shri Rao is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the mining industry, operating multiple mines across the state. His contributions extend to genealogy, where he served as Chairman of the Vanshavali Conservation and Promotion Academy, Government of Rajasthan. For a decade, he led the All India Genealogy Conservation and Promotion Organisation as National President, organizing national conferences with universities across India.
