THDCIL’s Chairman and Managing Director, Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, stressed the importance of cleanliness and sustainability as fundamental to the company’s core values.

He highlighted the corporation’s role as not just a power generation entity but as a proactive participant in national development initiatives. “Swachhata is a collective responsibility,” Vishnoi stated, reinforcing the company’s vision for a cleaner, greener India.

The campaign kicked off with Sh. Sipan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance) at THDCIL, leading the Swachhata Pledge on September 17, 2025, at the Corporate Office in Rishikesh. He called upon employees to commit one hour to voluntary cleanliness service, echoing the campaign’s motto ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’. This pledge saw an enthusiastic response, with numerous employees participating in the Shramdaan activities held today. Furthering the campaign’s reach, a special event under the same initiative was conducted at the NCR Office in Kaushambi.

The event was attended by Ms. Rashmita Jha, Chief Vigilance Officer of THDCIL, along with Sh. Neeraj Verma, ED (I/C, NCR), and Sh. S. K. Arya, Dy. CVO. The participation was robust, with employees demonstrating unity and a shared commitment to maintaining cleanliness. In Rishikesh, the focus was on a Cleanliness Drive organized on September 24, 2025, around the New Bus Stand area, which was attended by Shambhu Paswan, Hon’ble Mayor of Rishikesh. He praised THDCIL’s proactive steps in fostering a sustainable environment.

The drive also saw participation from Dr. Amarnath Tripathy, Chief General Manager (HR), and several other senior officers. The area has been designated a Cleanliness Target Unit (CTU), ensuring regular upkeep by THDCIL. The campaign also included diverse activities across other THDCIL locations. At Khurja, school students led a Prabhat Pheri, while at Tehri, a creative Poster Making and Best from Waste Exhibition was held. The VPHEP Office hosted another cleanliness drive, and a Health Camp was conducted by the VPHEP Dispensary, illustrating THDCIL’s multifaceted approach to community engagement and environmental stewardship.

These initiatives not only enhance the physical environment but also foster a sense of community and responsibility among participants. By integrating sustainability into its business practices, THDCIL continues to set an example for corporate responsibility towards achieving broader national goals.
