THDC India Limited lauded for its impactful role in Swachhata Pakhwada 2025.

Rishikesh, September 29, 2025: THDC India Limited, a leading public sector utility in the energy field, has received accolades for its exceptional contributions and performance during the Swachhata Pakhwada–2025, which took place from May 16 to May 31, 2025.

The award ceremony was hosted at Shram Shakti Bhawan, New Delhi, under the auspices of the Ministry of Power, in collaboration with the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation. During the event, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal (IAS), the Secretary of Power for the government of India, bestowed the honor upon Sh. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman & Managing Director of THDC India Limited. The ceremony was well-attended by key figures, including Shri Piyush Singh (IAS), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Power, Shri D Sai Baba, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power, Sh. Praveen Kumar, Under Secretary, Ministry of Power, and Sh. Balwant Singh, Manager, (CMD Sect.), THDCIL, along with other dignitaries from both the Ministry and THDCIL.

The award recognized THDCIL’s remarkable and influential activities during the two-week Swachhata Pakhwada 2025, which spanned the entirety of its operations and facilities. THDCIL launched an array of pioneering and effective actions aimed at enhancing cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental consciousness throughout its locations. These included extensive cleanup campaigns at residential areas, project sites, and adjacent villages, as well as initiatives to reduce plastic use and increase sanitation awareness. The engagement of schools and community groups was particularly noteworthy, involving them in street theater, art contests, and commitments to maintain cleanliness. Additionally, the company organized tree planting events to encourage ecological growth and introduced the innovative “Treasure out of Trash” project, which focused on repurposing waste materials into useful items. These initiatives were further amplified through vigorous social media campaigns to ensure greater impact and visibility.

To maintain openness and traceability, all activities and outcomes were meticulously documented and uploaded to the Swachhata Samiksha Portal, adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Ministry.
