During a special event at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur, on the occasion of Rajasthan Diwas, Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, alongside notable government officials and dignitaries, revealed the design plans for the Rajasthan Mandapam and its surrounding developments. This presentation marked a significant step in Rajasthan’s development into a hub for investment and cutting-edge infrastructure.
Positioned strategically near the Jaipur International Airport, the expansive project will cover over 90 acres and include a total construction area exceeding 94.53 lakh square feet. The plan features a diverse mix of facilities including a major convention center, extensive exhibition spaces, Global Capability Centres, and IT/ITES offices, along with hotels, retail outlets, residential areas, a Natural History Museum, and a Fintech plaza. This development is designed to foster a dynamic environment for business, culture, leisure, and community life. Key design elements focus on sustainability, connectivity, and pedestrian-friendly spaces to support long-term environmental and social sustainability.
The project is a collaboration between the Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Limited (RIICO) and the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), which will oversee its execution. With a budget exceeding ₹5,800 crore, this project is among the most ambitious urban development initiatives in the region, aimed at boosting the local economy and enhancing the social fabric of the area.
NBCC, tasked with bringing this vision to life, is set to commence the tender process in April, transitioning from the planning phase to actual construction. Known for its excellence in infrastructure projects, NBCC is committed to maintaining transparency, efficiency, and adherence to the highest standards throughout the development process.
Central to this project is the Rajasthan Mandapam Convention Centre, envisioned as a premier venue for international and local events. This facility will include multiple auditoria like the grand Padam Mandap, with a capacity for approximately 6500 attendees, and other spaces suitable for a variety of gatherings and performances.
The development will also enhance the Dravyawati riverfront, transforming it into an engaging public space that combines ecological improvements with cultural and recreational opportunities. This aspect underscores the project’s commitment to sustainable and resilient urban development.
The unveiling of the project garnered enthusiastic responses from the audience, which included prominent business and community leaders who commended the project’s scope and the Chief Minister’s visionary leadership. The event concluded with a standing ovation, reflecting strong support and optimism for the project’s potential to transform Jaipur into a leading global destination for conventions, business, and cultural interactions.
