The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) played a pivotal role in the establishment of this facility by contributing ₹25 crore towards its launch and pledging ongoing support for the next five years. This investment aims to nurture a robust healthcare facility capable of operating independently.
This initiative is part of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the region, particularly for the tribal populations of Bastar who previously faced challenges in accessing specialised medical care due to the distance from larger medical hubs.
NMDC’s involvement included not only funding but also the integration of a well-known private healthcare management team to ensure the hospital’s operational efficacy. This partnership underscores a collaborative effort between the government of Chhattisgarh and NMDC, focusing on both funding and administrative oversight.
Situated in Dimrapal, Jagdalpur, the hospital is strategically placed to serve numerous families in South Chhattisgarh, mitigating the need to seek critical care in far-flung urban areas. It is poised to become a cornerstone of local healthcare, providing essential services, particularly to underserved communities at no cost.
