India’s Energy Sector Gears Up for Growth at Urja Varta 2025: Insights from Hardeep Singh Puri

The Inter-Ministerial Round Table held on the sidelines of Urja Varta 2025 showcased the collaborative spirit of cooperative federalism championed under PM Modi’s leadership. Ministers and officials from 22 States and Union Territories came together to explore energy sector opportunities across regions.

In his address at the Round Table, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Puri, emphasized the pivotal role that states play in propelling India’s energy transformation. He underscored that states are at the core of India’s energy transition, driving significant demand and offering vast investment potential.

Over the last decade, India has invested over ₹4 lakh crore in energy infrastructure, strengthening national capacity and creating tangible value at the state level. Looking ahead, Shri Puri highlighted the need for continued investments, with an estimated ₹30–35 lakh crore earmarked for energy infrastructure development over the next decade.
