In a significant achievement for the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, its director, Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, has been honored with the Chief of Army Staff Commendation. This prestigious acknowledgment was presented by General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, Chief of the Army Staff, during a formal ceremony held at his office.

Prof. Ahuja expressed his deep appreciation for the recognition, attributing it to the collaborative efforts at IIT Ropar aimed at bolstering the nation’s defense capabilities. “Receiving this commendation from the Chief of Army Staff is both humbling and honorific. IIT Ropar has been actively expanding its research in defense technology, supported by the Army Technology Board. The institute is involved in pioneering projects that include developing Resilient Habitat, Autonomous Armoured Vehicles, and Directed Energy Weapons. These initiatives are among the top strategic priorities for the Indian Army, underscoring the critical role of advanced research in national defense.
