BPCL Accelerates ‘Har Ghar Pahuchenge’ Mission with Trailblazing PNG Rollout in Bihar

BPCL Accelerates ‘Har Ghar Pahuchenge’ Mission with Trailblazing PNG Rollout in Bihar

Madhubani / Bettiah, Bihar, 23 June 2026: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has delivered a powerful boost to its ‘Har Ghar Pahuchenge’ vision by commencing Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supply in Madhubani and Bettiah districts of Bihar well ahead of the main pipeline network, deploying innovative alternate gas transportation models that set a new benchmark for speed and ingenuity in clean energy access.

This milestone underscores BPCL’s aggressive push to bring cleaner fuel to households faster than ever, demonstrating unmatched execution prowess and a customer-first approach that refuses to let infrastructure delays stand in the way of progress.

In Madhubani, BPCL commissioned the PNG infrastructure at record speed after land allotment on 15 April 2026. The project received high-level oversight through regular review meetings led by the Hon’ble Chief Secretary of Bihar, backed by strong coordination from state departments and district authorities. Overcoming formidable challenges—including land filling at a waterlogged site, complex utility and statutory clearances, and local issues—the BPCL team executed with remarkable resolve, completing the project on an accelerated timeline.

The result is immediate: PNG supply to over 3,000 households via a plug-and-play model, one of its kind in the Eastern Region. Once the main pipeline is ready, the system will seamlessly switch to conventional supply, guaranteeing uninterrupted service.

In Bettiah, BPCL has implemented a smart DRS (Daughter Regulating Station) and LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) cascade-based supply model. On the very first day of commissioning, the company connected 35 households and is gearing up to extend PNG access to more than 1,000 households in the coming weeks. This innovative strategy delivers clean, safe, and convenient PNG without forcing consumers to wait for full pipeline connectivity.

BPCL’s scenario-based deployment approach—leveraging LCV cascades, DRS, DCU, and other supporting infrastructure—enables rapid PNG activation wherever pipeline timelines are extended. This customer-centric model drives faster household onboarding, higher infrastructure utilization, and quicker adoption of cleaner energy across the state.

A BPCL spokesperson stated, “The commencement of PNG supply in Madhubani and Bettiah reflects BPCL’s commitment to ensuring that customers receive the benefits of cleaner fuel and convenience at the earliest possible opportunity. Through innovative deployment models, strong collaboration with the Government of Bihar, district administrations and the unwavering efforts of our teams, we have demonstrated that access to PNG need not wait for the completion of the entire pipeline network. Our focus remains on reaching every household with safe, reliable and convenient energy solutions under our ‘Har Ghar Pahuchenge’ vision.”

By pioneering these early-supply solutions, BPCL is not only expanding city gas distribution infrastructure but also strengthening energy accessibility, enhancing customer convenience, and driving India’s transition to a gas-based economy with decisive action and bold innovation.
